About Us

Primarily a string ensemble (with a few other instruments thrown in at times) - Musica Insieme was founded in 2022 in the thick of the pandemic, and continues to let young string players learn to play with others of their current level. The ensemble is led by multi-instrumentalist teachers with many years of experience teaching strings and piano to students across all ages.

Without the high pressure auditions required to join the SYO or similar student orchestras, this is for any young musician between Grades 1-3  (Junior Ensemble) or Grades 4-6 (Intermediate Ensemble) who would love to play in a string orchestra setting. Students Grades 1 and 2 would need to be able to read notes fluently and navigate their own instrument comfortably for their grades.

We welcome all school age violin, viola, cello, and bass students who meet the simple criteria and grade levels mentioned above to join. We also have two (very rare) slots for piano students Grade 4 and above to join. Send in your video auditions today for assignments to either the Junior or Intermediate Ensembles!

Making music as a group is a unique pleasure, a wonderful shared experience that will deepen music appreciation and build important skills that cannot be learned alone. Each ensemble session aims to be instructive, interactive, and thoroughly enjoyable.
